Emerald congratulates Ruby on doing well with the quiz, and tells her to keep it up. Language has to be practiced or it will be forgotten!
 
Ruby beams, and then goes back to her potato peeling.
 
Emerald takes a second to chuckle at the fact that he has had fun being a teacher. He could see himself doing it in the future, maybe. He kind of likes magic too though. Maybe a magical/language teacher?
 
Emerald shrugs to himself and then asks the chef what he is making.
 
“Mashed potatoes and vegetables.” The chef grunts.
 
Emerald then asks if he is having trouble with pests, and asks if there is anyway he can help get rid of or capture them. He makes sure to leave out the part about casting magic on them since he isn’t sure how the chef would respond to that.
 
“Nah, not yet. A few more days out and we’ll have flies everywhere though.” The chef says again, not turning away from his pots.
