“Best face” competitions are usually between Rainbow Dash and Applejack, but Fluttershy got some great ones in this episode.

Well “most” of our ponies have come far. Purple Smart is an alicorn princess, Marshmallow has more than 1 store now, Awesome Pony is finally a Wonderbolt, and our resident tree has become far more assertive. And of course, the three moe fillies have earned their flank stamps.
 
Only Pink Party Pony and Apple Pony have yet to have any significant improvement…

But for the longest time, Fluttershy episodes amounted to “Fluttershy learns to be assertive again”. In today’s episode she actually starts out assertive and stays that way. People were thinking they were in for a repeat of the Breezies episode, but it didn’t turn out like that.
She always shows various degrees of assertivness since season 2.
 
Yup. Fluttershy certainly got good character development early on but for some reason some people just wanted to think every single Fluttershy episode was about her learning to be assertive again even when that was certainly not the case.  
Sometimes Fluts and other ponies seemed to forget things they’ve learned earlier but people only pointed out Fluttershy’s cases and I guess it became “a thing” so others got away with it while Fluttershy didn’t.

Oh, for pony’s sake! Maybe Fluttershy episodes in 4th season was that feeling, but even there, during the season she taking part in the Olympic Games! How could anyone not to call it development? And in the fifth season, she just literally uses the lesson of a Filly Vanilly in Scare Master. And this is only a small part. I don’t understand how you can be so blind people?
