It’s weird that the most recent ep had Pirate Applejack, because Wheelverse Twijack end up roped into some sort of epic high-seas adventure where they battle pirates and go looking for ancient treasures at some point and I’d been thinking about it. I mean, Pirates are Bad in the Wheelverse - the Pirate Queen of Book 1 being a Big Bad for Eagle Island after all. It might have been ~20 years after all of that malarkey for Twilight and Applejack but I’m sure her legacy lives on.

I quite like the idea of just… leaving it as a huge Noodle Incident. Twilight and Applejack get called up by the Map to help somepony in, I dunno, the Grittish Isles or across to Griffinstone, and just… disappear for two months on the boat trip back. They return like pictured and constantly refer to things that happened, in really crypic ways. The others are dying to know what actually happened but they never spell anything out the whole way. [Hey, this is just like that one time, with the barrel of squid. / I’d say it’s more like when we tried to trick the Pearl Queen into agreein’ about the clams. Boy was she mad. | You know what this reminds me of, Twi? Your duel with The Kraken. That was crazy. / I think we both know who picked the fight with The Kraken in the first place, AJ.]

It’ll probably end up as one of the Wheelverse side-stories though. Eventually. Applejack and the Emerald-Eyed Amulet? I like the sound of that.

Debating whether or not they’re Not Dating What Are You Talking About before the trip, and whether to have them return completely all over each other and possibly having been married in some secret underwater seapony/dolphin/manatee/whale/idek nation or not, much to the confusion and mild outrage of their friends. [What do you mean THEY ELOPED? / They weren’t even dating yet! I didn’t get to throw them a party! / How DARE they not invite us! I’ve had these dresses sketched for months, those SAVAGES./ That’s, um, wow.]
I’m cackling a little as I write this so that means this is like 96% probably the plan at this point.

This doesn’t count as spoilers ‘cause y’all know TwiJack is never going to be called into question. ;P It’s more a matter of when and how than if.
