I can’t put my finger on it, but it feels like I’ve read this whole comic before.
 
It just feels like, I dunno… like every single fan-made MLP comic that’s ever been made. You have a Mysterious OC who immediately becomes friends with all the main characters, you have crying at the drop of a hat, you have the tone flitting randomly between serious talk and lolwacky internet humor oftentimes within the same panel, you have characters acting just slightly out of character enough to be noticable…
 
It’s not like it’s poorly written, the dialogue is mostly fine. And the art is really good! And for the most part it left me wanting to know what happens next. So it’s close to doing everything right! But it feels like a story that has been told so many times before, with so many cliches, that it juuuuust enough wrong it’s even more noticable than if it did everything wrong.
