Yes. It is also why it takes her hours every morning to get ready for the day.  
First she has to drug Sweetie with a very special blend involving Poision joak, Heart’s desire, Funny Vines and a few more things, guide her to get a mark in playing with a hoop, bear the pain and suffering of having a hoop spin against her head until it leaves a burn mark, and then grow the antidote (conveniently, by admitting that she was the one to drug Sweetie.) All in all, it is a painful and humiliating process that takes the better part of two hours.  
Still, as one out of one dragons testify, the result is more than worth it.

And then Applebloom’s family (just the ones in Ponyville) were murdered, and she devoted herself to fighting crime as…The Ringmistress!
