You think about how you forgot your own name. You’ve had a good memory and know basic survival techniques. You’re not really sure what may have caused you amnesia, but you’ll come to that later.
You go out the cave and do your business then take a risk and drink from the river. The water was fairly clean to your surprise. You take your second apple with you as while as your bindle to gather more food and wood.
On your way through the forest, you spot a cabin. You wonder what’s a cabin doing in a place like this, it looks like it might have some useful things inside.
What do you do now?

Dust is a good sign of abandonment.
If abandoned, look for useful stuff.
If it smells clean, it could provide a good shelter, with the cave being a second base.
Those walls would give more shelter from the elements.
If it smells overly-musty, the cave would be better.
You don’t want to get sick from mold.
If it’s not abandoned, see if the inhabitants are friendly.
Friends are great and helpful to have.
If there are signs of recent life, monitor it periodically until the inhabitants return.
Do not take any items if it has recent signs of occupancy.
Remember, no swiping from others.
