The former student of Celestia, Sunset Shimmer sought power beyond what she was capable of controlling or even understanding. Her blatant disregard for limits set by her teacher led her to her expulsion. However, this was not the end of her ambitions. She would continue to pursue power, but now she sought to understand the strength of the Warriors. Why were there Warriors of Light and Darkness, and why are they colluding. The warriors have always been known to be against each other. When Darkness tries to overwhelm, the Warriors of Light awaken, and the opposite also occurs when Light threatens to overtake the Darkness. Her obsession with their power led to her to draw their strength directly from them after temporarily trapping them. However, she didn’t foresee the outcome that occurred. The magic that she tried to harness possessed her and turned her into a demoness. She wasn’t meant to wield power that wasn’t hers, so it corrupted her beyond recognition. The efforts of the Warriors stopped her dead in her tracks before she caused any more harm that she already has.
 
After she recovered, she willingly was taken in. However, before anything was done, Celestia met with her to discuss what happened, and why she had the reaction she did with the magic. While the two Magicks can cooperate, they cannot share the same vessel. If a pony that had neither wielded both, it would be cooperation, but as she had a Warrior’s potential, she couldn’t possess both. Celestia explained that she was the fourth and final Warrior of Light. She was enlisted as a student for both her magickal potential and her potential as a Warrior. After this revelation, she asked if there was anything she could do to attone. The Princess of Light told her that she must learn from her fellow Warriors if she wanted to start. Since then, she’s had a rocky yet developing friendship with her allies.
 
Her nature as a Scholar is one of learning all there is to know. She has a deep depth of Magicks White and Black at her disposal. Her understanding of the world around her comes not from books (despite it being her job’s signature weapon type), but from actively learning with experience. There isn’t a day that passes by with her sporting some sort of bandage from a new experiment she pursued.
 
Celestia’s Journal - Bestowed upon her while learning under Celestia. After her expulsion, she took this book among her hastily gathered goods. While the writings in it are mostly her notes and lessons learned back then, one can tell when it was used after leaving. Her notes are written after performing rather than before or during, which separates the prep heavy Twilight. Besides that, it is a strong catalyst for magic in itself. It’s said writings in this book appear in a replica book somewhere else.
 
Twilit Quill - A quill pen made from one of Twilight’s longer feathers. It’s really not a great magical catalyst, but it glows many different colors depending on the type and strength of magic Twilight is using at any given time. It reminds Sunset that she’s never alone.
