Hello I am just a normal man that is very upset at this. I hope to do something to get this tumblr active again. But to do this I will need the email of both the artist of “Pet Dash” and the person or group that banded it. All information needs to be sent to my email saveprivacy4@hotmail.com. With the help of all of those who believe that this “censorship” is really censorshit, then I hope to have you as a loyal support in the aid of redeming this tumblr. Also any additional information will always aid my research. I hope to one day get this tumblr back to your clopping hooves.

Whether governmental or corporate, censorship is censorship is censorship. Also, judging from the image, it didn’t violate anything.

Its the way cp-laws are perceived that makes it so fucked up. Being even remotely involved in a cp scandal is a strong blow to a company’s reputation (even if wrongly accused, see Michael Jackson).
 
So now western companies just steer the hell away, satisfying any reports of the content that might even remotely seem as underage porn to a retarded kangaroo in a drunken haze. And they don’t care if the users of their free service got hurt in a collateral damage.

And whose fault is it that there is no transparency where it ought to be required? Well, certainly not the random people stumbling through, believe me.  
Perhaps making such transparency a law may well be a good thing for the future.

Actually, Pet-dash has been portrayed as being like a child, with the way she acts (for example, going to McDonald’s for a Happy Meal and handing out her money like she just learned out to count to five the week before).

Still kinda bs though. I mean I can understand the ones with underage characters but ones like these just get caught in the crossfire cause Tumblr support is too damn lazy to fact check apparently.

I’m not saying I agree with the decision, and I certainly don’t if it was just someone spamming the report button over reasoning that tumblr bought into.
 
I’m saying that I can see how it might have been made; and that closing a porn tumblr account doesn’t automatically equate to censorship.

I suppose it could be construed as being under age based on drawing style, but come on. That’s pretty weak. If they even had cursory knowledge of MLP or hell if they just looked up the character on Wikipedia they would have seen that she is not a child character.
 
But instead they chose to close it based on an assumption. And a poorly made assumption at that.

Don’t agree with someone but can’t actually be bothered to actually debate them? Call them a White Knight for whatever they are defending and string together a portmanteau of “censorship” and “shit!” Make sure to throw in buzzwords like “thoughtcrime” and similar things derived from 1984.
 

 
 
It was pointed out in the comments for the email that SmittyG’s art style for that specific tumblr could be construed as her being underage simply by how she was drawn. It should be relatively common knowledge by now that tumblr has been really iffy about whether the content of some of the Pony ask tumblrs goes against their ToS.
 
So short of rambling complaints about Western society being rotten and without knowing the reasons that the other two tumblr screencaps uploaded after this one were pulled, I’m still not seeing how we should all jump on the “OMG CENSORSHIP” bandwagon. We don’t even know how Pet Dash came under fire from tumblr, so we can’t even assume that it was the result of a report when it could have been someone at tumblr trawling through other ask tumblrs after their recent crackdowns.

The problem with smittyg’s case is that his tumblr was shut down because Dash was obviously a child.

That was essentially his fight/explanation. I have the same reaction when I am astounded by the complete lack of intelligence of someone as well. I just can’t take it seriously because it is just far too ‘out there.’
 
Evil corps ill-need white knights by the way, this is like Pisspal/Egay all over again. If you’re gonna white knight, you may as well get paid for it and go be a lawyer. Fact of the matter is no matter how many times they are proven wrong, or shown something is not actually against TOS, they will never re-examine it because western society now seems to think it’s the end of the world if they ever admit to being wrong about anything, ever. This applies not only to business but to its laws and its enforcers as well.

I’m not implying anything. Simply stating a fact. It’s not censorship if you do something that violates the agreement you made to use the service in the first place. We know why this tumblr went down because SmittyG posted the email, and their reasoning for taking it down was explained. If SmittyG wanted to fight it, he could have.
 
 
That doesn’t make it censorship because you forfeited the right to bitch about that when you uploaded to tumblr in the first place.

I was talking about the moral crusaders, not tumblr. Tumblr has every right to do whatever they want, but dont tell me you wouldnt feel bad if someone told on you.

Its not, but its douchebaggish when there is someone out there, on a crusade, to fuck up your shit, be illegal or not.

Pretty sure a private company enforcing its Terms of Use isn’t censorship.
