I think you have to take into account that they’re talking about a trans pony, like Dash. Maybe he already suspects what they’re talking about and it might be that that–suicidal ideation–was something he wrestled with as well.
 
And then, also, his emotions would already have been riding high just before all this when he met them.

IDK I’m just of the meinung that if your parents don’t except you for being gay/an atheist/you career choice/whatever, then just… cut them out of your life.
 
If they can’t love you for who you are, they suck and they’re not worth dealing with.

I’d say suicide is more likely, considering the discussion is one of parents being supportive.
 
And being gay, coming from a traditional, Catholic household this is getting kinda rough. There was a comment on an earlier image mentioning that acceptance from one’s parents is a common theme in art by ‘bronies’. I’d say it’s a common theme among any group which experiences ostracisation.
 
I won’t patronise any trans people in saying I can perfectly empathise but I think there’s some common ground.
 
If I’m right in reading this then it’s just a case of an unpleasant truth. This is what happens to some people.
