Well is beacause the two states in northeast united states it was October 29,2012 he passed one year after hurricane sandy.

I know there are people who can’t leave for valid reasons, such as due to financial or logistical reasons, etc. I’ve no problems with them as their reasons are perfectly understandable. No, my issues are with those who discount the warnings and evacuation orders as paranoia, as well as those “hurr durr, the guvment can’t tell me to leave if I don’t want to” idiots. There are way too many of those. Those are also usually the types of people to complain the loudest if the government doesn’t rescue them quick enough.

So. I’ve been watching the news and apparently there are still some people who’ve decided to be idiots and ignore the evacuation to try and “ride out the storm”. Normally I’d be all in favor of people improving the gene pool by removing themselves from it – the world could use with a few less idiots. However, their thoughtless decision puts other people at risk, such as the rescuers who’ll have to save their sorry asses, etc.
 
There should probably be a sort of ‘registry of idiots’ where those who willfully ignore warnings could put thir names and addresses. Sort of a Do-Not-Rescue list. If your name’s on the list, then no one should be sent to rescue or even give you supplies, no matter how much you beg.

Everything’s covered in snow this morning. There’s around five to six inches. The power’s flickered a few times but thank God we still have electricity. More snow coming tonight. Still holding out. Thoughts and prayers to everypony out there. Brohoof. /)

Well, I may be in Canada, but Sandy is hitting me pretty good too. Where I am is supposed to get it the worst on this side of the border. It’s raining sheets and the wind is powerful. The power has managed to stay on for now, but the wind is going to keep picking up.

Scratch what I said before. Apparently we’ll be getting enough winds to throw up 31 foot waves in Lake Michigan.

Michigander here, we’ve been experiencing that cold front that’s supposed to merge with the hurricane for the past few days, but aside from minor forecasted snow/sleet, it looks like the storm won’t penetrate this far inland.
 
Hope this doesn’t fuck with the election. That’s the last thing we need on top of everything else.

I’m in PA,so far just wind and rain and falling branches.

Im in PA right now, the only thing this storm did to me was awaken me to noisy sirens and police cars. Its not as bad as people are making it to be :/ I think this is ending up to be overhyped bullshit again.

This is the storm of the century, and I’ve seen exactly three storms!

Here, weather is the least of our problems.

The long reaching effects of the hurricane might do something here, but it’s Oklahoma. Our weather hates us 75% of the time anyway.
