It’s less traumatizing for the parents than my other idea.

I dont want to hear your darn details!

Hey, the Buffaloes were portrayed as a nice race, but other than that, you’re right there. But still that thing annoys me.
@QueenCold
Its a pretty interesting idea I’ll admit. I just don’t like how it makes the ponies the only good ones in the world.
We need more Spike fan-theories!
That’s basically the show’s canon regarding other races. Non-ponies are either evil (natural dragons, changelings) or unfriendly and antagonistic (griffons and the one Minotaur). zebras and mules get a pass for being equine, of not pony.
It should be possible to regress a creature into it’s egg-state.
But as I said before, this isn’t even the theory I’m really going with. I just put this idea out there, because I thought it’d be interesting and a nice topic to discuss.
I came up with another theory:
What if Celestia, desperate to find a way to locate the new bearers of the Elements of Harmony, ends up taking the life of Spike’s parents just to get his egg. With that egg, Celestia will finally have a way to test unicorns magic to see wich one of them is powerful enough to be the new element of magic and thus, leading her to other elements as well. But Celestia never expected that Twilight could be powerful enough to hatch the egg.
In other words, Spike was used as a device to find the elements and his birth was a mistake.
(Yeah, probably too dark for the show…)
@QueenCold
As a Spike fan, I would love to see him being more awesome and badass, but overpowered-magical-Spike is not the way to go. I think Spike will be a lot more awesome and badass if he overcomes villains by using his witts and common dragon powers alone.
While it didn’t happen before in MLP it has happened in other universes, like Mario with Yoshi.
The red dragon was relatively easily pursuaded. It doesn’t seem smart to age regress every single dragon that causes a problem.
@CottonTales
Yeah, some bs about Spike being the son of a good magical dragon king and another story about spike controlling elements.
@TheAbridgenator
Not really. King Piccolo put his soul in his son so he could live on after dying.
Just for that your theory is not plausible.
However,it’s not bad if you’re working on a plot for a Alternate Universe fanfic.
Gary stu spike stories?
Still if she could age regress a dragon she would have solved Dragonshy easily.
It has some promise, but just couldn’t work in the show’s present canon.
In chronological order:
Spike is born, raised by dragons, grows up to be evil, causes trouble, princess casts age regression and memory erasing spells on him, twilight hatches him, the ponies raise him to be good.
Very far-fetched and extremely unlikely, but I thought it was a nice break from all the Gary Stu stories I’ve read about Spike lately.
