Gala Blossom was the first born and only daughter of Big Macintosh and Cheerilee. She was the sweetest little foal you would ever meet, and Big Mac knew instantly she was meant for greatness.
Taking after her mother when she was a filly, Gala took a quick interest in books and learning. Cheerilee knew she was going to follow in her hoofprints and become a teacher like her, but she also knew she liked to work hard like her father.
When she became old enough, Gala became her mothers assistant at the elementary school, and helped teach the class and mentor students. Everything was going perfectly fine until Gala met a pony named Frost. He was one of her students, Sprinkles’, big brother. He came to pick Sprinkles up from school everyday, and always made it his duty to stop and talk to her before they left. Eventually the two came to like each other, and began going out; Much to Big Mac’s disapproval. Frost was a trouble maker, and he thought Frost was a bad influence on his daughter. But despite her father’s requests to stay away from him, Gala continued to go out with Frost behind her father’s back.
That all changed one faithful day when Gala was in an accident working on the farm with her family. Gala was struck by a falling tree, and diagnosed with amnesia upon waking up. Over time, she remembered most of her life and who her loved ones were; But the part of her brain that included memories with her and Frost was never recovered.
Despite Frost trying to convince her he could help her regain their memories, Gala took this incident as a sign.. She believed everything happens for a reason, and was well aware that a pony by the name of Half-Note (Daughter of Neon Lights and Vinyl Scratch) was already in love with him. Gala did what she thought was best for them both and let Frost go for good, closing off any posibility of them getting back together; but also giving him a hint that he was meant for someone else.
For a while, everything seemed to be back to normal, until one day Gala was back in the hospital with a sudden attack. Her accident left her brain damaged, more than just her amnesia. Eventually, Gala Blossom passed away from a brain hemorrhage, left dormant from her accident. This resulted in her parents realizing they drifted apart from each other after all that time and led to their divorce. Gala was the only reason they were holding onto their marriage, and with her gone, there was no reason for them to keep making each other miserable. Both her parents parted ways, grieved and mourned for their times, and went on with their new lives, knowing Gala would want them to keep living.
Despite being dead, Gala Blossom’s destiny was not yet fulfilled. Not soon after Big Mac married his first love, Sugar Belle, Gala discovered it was Sugar’s destiny to give birth to another foal; And Gala Blossom was given the task to watch over this foal. This foal turned out to be a filly, which they named Ambrosia. Even after death, Gala Blossom is still with them, just can only be seen and heard by her little sister; And she couldn’t be more happy about being Ambrosia’s Guardian Angel. It just meant she got to watch her family grow and be a part of it again; Even if not physcially. She acts as Ambrosia’s mentor and conscience, as well as Guardian.
Every so often, Gala will stray from Ambrosia’s side to visit Frost and other ponies she knew when she was alive, but she wouldn’t stray far from her little sister very long. Just enough time to see that everypony she cared for was still happy, and doing alright. In a sense, she’s not just Ambrosia’s Guardian Angel, but Ponyville’s Angel.
