Really looking forward to this one. It sounds like this will be Rainbow Dash’s Sweet and Elite, an episode which directly addresses her future ambitions (and really Rainbow Dash and Rarity are the only two who are aiming for something greater than what they have now).

Part of me thinks that Rainbow Dash exceeds expectations too much, and that’s why she cannot make a good wonderbolt. The wonderbolts are a team, and Rainbow wants personal recognition. Each of the wonderbolts has a specialty, but Rainbow is hands down the best flyer in Equestria: she ‘d outdo the rest of the team. More than that, she’s all about solo stunts, not group maneuvers, the Tornado being the exception rather than the rule. She just doesn’t fit with the Wonderbolts’ style.

Maybe after this Rainbow will see the writing on the wall and give up her dream. I mean, if they don’t want the only pony to do a Sonicrainbooom and a two time savior of the world, then they just don’t want anyone.

Honestly? I will only think MLP FiM is completely for all ages when they finally show some sort of Tragic Monster or Necessary Evil.
 
 
Chrysalis wanted to save her people, but she was evil to the core, and how can you gain love invading a country?  
Discord is a complete maniac, and NMM isn’t a Tragic Monster for me because it was a case of Split-Personality more than anything.

It’s a show for little girls…  
Although that barrier that told it was a show for little girls, disappeared kind of at the end of season 2 anyway, so maybe we will see more conflict of what Rainbow Dash really want, when she finaly gets to live the dream.
