Having witnessed the Eggman Legion take a foothold, the first of many to see their arrival in Equestria, she was among those who dove headlong into the fray to fend them off. While failing, unable to save her current home from being overrun and ransacked, Latch became a guerrilla fighter in the wake of Ponyville’s downfall. With her survival nature, and expert memory of the Everfree, they were no match for the turf of her supposed second home. Time and time again did she strike surgically against the legion, affecting their numbers and manufacturing… even, at times, disabling the portal to their home world for lengthy periods of time.
 
However, it was eventual that she was caught. Drawn out with bait in the form of rescuing ponies, she was unaware that they were already brainwashed into being servants of the Eggman Empire. Captured, and put through the same containment and processing as friends and fellow ponies, she too became one of them. Brainwashed, and undergoing indoctrination, she would serve her new leaders in full, using her skillset against those she tried to protect.
