This thread thus far is proof, whether people consciously realize it or not, that some just can’t fathom or deal with the fact that some people, somewhere don’t like ponies.
 
Now, it’s obvious given the post and the rating the comment has that a few people obviously don’t mind the comment, but it’s more the principle and over-arching point of the matter: no matter where you go on the internet someone is going to inevitably spout some crap related to this show and it’s fandom.
 
Now Simon is absolutely fucking right; it’s annoying to see other people in this fandom randomly bring up ponies in places and in content that has little to NOTHING to do with ponies. I mean, for fuck’s sake, I love ponies just as much as the next guy here, but if I’m listening to a Jay-Z or Tenacious D or the Clash or any other song from a band on Youtube, I expect people to be talking about fucking Jay-Z, Tenacious D, Clash, or the respective band/artist in the comments!

Something tells me that if it were a Star Wars or anime reference that had equally little to do with the video in question, people like Simon wouldn’t be throwing a fit.

It’s a song, people come there to listen to the song. Comments is for people giving thoughts about the song, about what they relate the song to, and if someone relate it to pony in some ways, it’s fine to post that.
 
If it were a discussion of some other matters and someone just throw in ponies, then yes, it’s not appropriate.

People hate us because we make Youtube Comments? I can understand when folks spammed 4Chan but comments and the occasional threads in other sites, that is a plain silly excuse.
 
Honest to god how many other fan memes from other shows / movies and videogames do you see posted everywhere. Some more prevalent then ponies.
 
Flat truth, ponies are everywhere = the occasional meme image or thread that you do not have to click. If your hate is so deep that last week following a link on X whatever site leads to picture of Fluttershy then you have bigger issues.

This is so annoying. Why bring ponies into everything? Can’t we just stay where we hang out? I don’t want to talk about ponies when I’m not here, and people who aren’t into ponies don’t want to hear about ponies. Why do people do this? This is why the fandom is so hated.
