Interesting and makes much sense.
The terribly mis-named “three headed wolves” in Altered beast only have two heads and now doing a little digging, I know it’s not supposed to be three headed.
Strictly speaking, ““Orthrus is the Latinized version of the Greek word – which is indeed “Orthros”. Greek doesn’t use -us ending very much, -os is a lot more common, but they’re characteristic of Latin. A lot of well-known mythical terms are actually the Roman translation for an older Greek term – Tartaros, Kérberos, Olympos, Pegasos and so on.
