You Promised, Again
You painted a picture in my mind of what could be,
But never touched oil to canvas.
You’ve given me nothing but an unending string of desires
And thoughts and reflections and ideas
And the blank canvas upon which you promised
they’d one day lay upon.
Again, the only promise that holds true
Is the unspoken promise of the failure of you.
