The thing that got me as a kid was I missed the one key that's in that little center-of-the-area tower that you reach by raising the water and going under the floating platform. It took me SO LONG to find that one key and it like scarred me for life D:
The same thing happened to a lot of people when they first played it, especially around the time OoT first came out, which I think is one of the major things contribuing to the Water Temple's infamy that, and having to repeatedly pause to equip and unequip the Iron Boots, a problem thankfully remedied in OoT3D.

Ooh I might do that :D
Glad to hear that you like my idea.

A ponified/changelingified Gohma could work. Maybe even a 'Queen' Dodongo.

Barinade would be a bit creepy, though.

But hey, how about Dark Link? An evil, female doppelganger of yourself sounds intriguing…

Feels like I've started something here, since I recently posted a couple of crossover pics myself. (Not that I'm complaining. It's always good to see new artwork from old games that I can relate to).

Not sure if other bosses would work to continue the set.

Phantom Ganon? Can't see that working.

Volvagia? Possibly, but someone's gonna get burned.

Bongo Bongo? Creepy as hell to start with. Don't know how that would work.

And the witches. Twin Rova.
Old versions? That'd be a oh God no!
The merged version? Maybe….

As a child, Morpha did little more than drain my hearts and frustrate me to no end.
But as a teen, I began contemplating the naughty possibilities an amorphous partner like her could bring to the metaphorical table.
Now as an adult, I know that slimes (and other non-solid beings) would probably be some the best creatures in all of fiction to "do it" with.

The ride never ends.
Ah the water temple, obviously the best part of the game.

@Havock

The graveyard temple still to this day freaks me out. Those white guys with the hands that grab you terrified me as a kid.
