For fashion styles like these, the baits usually cost at least $15 to begin with, and they can take upwards of 4 hours to rehair the 250-some-odd hair plugs (though I’ve gotten much faster over the years). Add that to 2-4 hours of painting, making accessories or modifications, other material costs, and styling (RD is especially tedious).
 
I try to keep my prices reasonable, while still valuing my own time, but even then my customs are only worth what people are willing to pay. I understand if they may not be worth $300 to you, but they were to me, and at least one other person.
 
Should check out my Livestream some time and watch the sausage get made, or check out some of the tutorials on my Tumblr. I’ve hosted custom workshops before too. People usually understand the pricing a bit better after they take part in that…

If I ever get the time on my hands I will give it a shot.
