As everyone knows, mules are sterile. Any hope of one reproducing is pretty much nonexistent, and in the extremely rare case that it does happen, it is considered a miracle.  
Well, Solomon was hoping for a miracle when the time came that he and Honeycrisp started planning to have a family. He knew his whole life that he may never be able to have children. He should’ve been prepared for the disappointment. But having children was Honey’s dream, and he wanted to give that to her.  
Thus began many long, painful years of fertility tests, hormone treatments, and let-downs. Both Honey and Solomon were devastated, but at least Honey made peace with it. But not Solomon. He saw this as a failure on his part, and started telling himself that Honey deserved better than him, someone who could give her what she wanted most. But he loved her and stuck by her side, even if all hope of having a family was gone.  
Well…not completely gone. It wasn’t until after they had given up trying that Honey got a shocking surprise: she was pregnant! She immediately told Solomon, and he was absolutely overjoyed! At long last! They would be parents! They would have a family!  
And 11 months later, the happy couple welcomed into the world their little Chelsea~
