So this isn’t a full redesign of Professor Inkly, but some things are different.  
Here’s a rehash of her bio with new things added on. ALSO YES, ANOTHER UPLOAD…Egg Day gave me some much needed time off!

Family: Starswirl the Bearded [adoptive father]  
Voice: Sounds like Margo Robbie  
Talents: Senior Royal Twilight researcher for Princess Luna/Avid cryptologist/Serial Killer-I MEAN, Insomniac….hah…
 
Chipper, upbeat and unintentionally creepy, Prof. Inkly could never walk around Canterlot at any other time besides the Witching hour. The kingdom is used to weird hybrids but everything from Inkly’s bizarre spider-like gait and skittish movements, to her unsettling habit of staring unblinkingly at creatures she finds interesting, garners her a frightening reputation.  
Inkly is the mentor for Tinker and somewhat of an advisor to Princess Luna as she has ties to the royal family.  
Prof. Inkly is technically a Sphinx and her mother once terrorized the Neighle Ponies before her death. Villager feared her but left her scraps to eat until Starswirl and co. happened upon the lanky sac o’ fluff and bones.
 
Most of the research community only knows her by name as she works alone. Her interests are both applauded and chastised by many scientific minds though the Princess has a deep affection for this eccentric a large creature. Inkly was raised by Starswirl the Bearded and lived in the Castle of the two sisters long ago. She lived in harmony with Luna and Celestia, though the latter did appear to harbor a deep hatred for the creature. That was then, and while Celestia is unaware the Inkly is still alive, her hatred has faded over a millennium.
 
She likes to tease and mimic ponies from time to time, often posing as a friend or family member in a very “Skinwalker-esk manner”  
Her games in her mind are lighthearted but she is truly unaware of her own presence.
