Description

Jämtlands Hästjägare-Korps was a cavalry unit in the Jämtlands Fältjägare-Regemente, a light infantry or skirmisher regiment in the Royal Swedish Army in 1834. The unit became an independent regiment in 1853 when the regiment was reduced to a corps. The unit originates from the province of Jemtia in centre of Sweden. The uniform in this image depicts an officer in 1856.
