”So whatcha got there?” Motocross asked, gesturing towards the album Flower hugged to her chest. “And why’s it under your mom’s bed?”
She’d waited all day to tell her friend what she’d found, and now that they were in the safety of her home she could. Her mom wasn’t even there; this was the perfect time to show him!
”Well,” Flower began, barely able to contain her excitement, “You know how I don’t have a dad?”
”Yeah?”
”Well I think I know who he is!” She threw open the book and began flipping through the pages, before arriving at one filled with pictures of a certain buck-toothed stallion.
”Him? How d’ya know? Your teeth ain’t like that!”
”Yes, but this book was made the year before I was born! And Mama says that’s how long ponies are pregnant, so that means this was made around the time she made me!” She explained. “Besides, he kind of does look like me. His name is Hayseed Turnip Truck.”
Flower continued flipping through the pages, studying each and every picture of the stallion who must have been her father. Until…she flipped another one and the stallion in the pictures was suddenly different.
“Who’s that?”
”I don’t know! I didn’t get this far!” Flower frantically scanned the pages. “His name is…Feather Bangs?”
”He kinda looks like you too,” Motor pointed out.
”He does! I’m so confused!” Flower flipped another page. “And now she’s with a mare! How is this possible?”
”Pippin’s aunt is married to a mare and they had kids.” Motor shrugged. “Why dontcha just ask your mom?”
Flower sighed. “I did. She just says she’s dated a lot of ponies and doesn’t remember. And I think her special brownies make her forget stuff…”
Motor stopped and thought for a moment. “Well, maybe if ya meet these ponies you’ll know which one’s your dad…or mom. One of them’s gotta be more like you than the others, right?”
”I guess so,” Flower looked over the pictures again. “I think it’ll work. Mama’s on a nature trip so I’ll start looking tomorrow. I’m going to meet my dad!”
