I want to see Spike drinks molten silver, that won’t harm him since he’s a dragon but I think he’ll just vomit.

I am who I am
I frankly think it’s silly to get annoyed by something like laugh fire - I thought it was believable enough and not distracting from the overall episode.

I really loved how the episode both humanized Garble, and simultaneously suggested that there might be others besides him, Smolder, and Ember that are repressing more sensitive sides, putting on a tough act because they feel dragon society wouldn’t appreciate it (and also Ember’s directive at the end to recognize that fact) - I had originally though that Smolder, and perhaps Ember, were special in that way. I kinda wish there would be some stuff of Spike and Garble learning to become friends, but this was probably the latter’s last episode of the series. Oh well. At least there’ll probably be some more moments where Spike and Smolder act as siblings. Oh, and Fluttershy was really great, can’t forget that.

If I were to have one complaint about the episode, it was that the way the plot threads came together in the end was merely perfunctory - yeah, it worked well enough, but I’ve seen it done so much better before on FiM. A very minor nitpick, though.

Now, on topic for the image at hand, I know that feeling all too well of swallowing pool water accidentally, especially when it’s so heavily chlorinated that your eyes burn simply from being near the pool. Yikes.

By the time lava is hot enough to be a liquid as shown in most of the episode, it’s insanely hot. Fluttershy even being there was absurd to me.

I’m talking about dragon laughter = fire. That didn’t exist until this episode and it was a highly important plot point.

It would have been more logical (and funny) if a bunch of dragonsneeze trees were brought in to make everyone explosively sneeze the nesting ground into a molten pit, because we at least know dragon sneezes are super powerful, but again, the writers ignore that perfectly tasty lore and continuity for something that does not match any of the prior episodes.

The episode was poorly written and specifically went against previous episodes.
I disagree on both counts. The characters and character interactions seem spot on, the story itself is fairly simple but works well for the cast involved, and nothing about this strikes me as directly opposed to anything previously established.

Another example of the trope that lava behaves like water. It doesn’t. The stuff is dense as rock; you could almost walk on it if you didn’t get burned up by it.
Well for humans that would be the case, because we’re much less dense than molten rock. Dragons could easily have a much higher density that would account for their ability to sink in the stuff.

At least I have the courage to show my profile, background pony.

The episode was poorly written and specifically went against previous episodes. The fact that you can’t understand that and instead just go “lol it’s hated because spike justice warriors” shows your lack of understanding and how further arguing this point will simply rattle through an empty head.

“Spike abuse” is “Spike justice warrior” speak for “slapstick happen to my pet character”.After 9 years,i dont care anymore because it show nothing short of ascending Spike as the God Emperor of the Universe will satisfy its fan.About the writing quality,i’ll just say i disagree and think it was part of the course (seriously i feel like we watched a different episode, maybe the laugh fire was a bit contrived but that wasnt that distracting) but i really liked the end morale.
I’m being a little “harsh” because i think when you’re whiny enough to post a lazy collage of Spike screencap to whine about the episode, you can handle a little heat
Background Pony #CF26
The episode main morale was on how you shouldnt let people mocking you get in the way of your passion (ie:ignore the haters) even if it’s girly or artistic (pssst, bronies) but let’s be butthurt about cartoon Spike slapstick lmao
