Fairy Floss was born to Pinkie Pie and Princess Luna a couple of years after Luna gave birth to Achlys. Before Pinkie and Luna became a couple and Fairy Floss came to be, Luna was in a short relationship with Ahuizotl. Luna and Ahuizotl’s relationship was built on a foundation of lies that he’d created to lure Luna into a false sense of security and make her believe that he loved her for who she was, that he didn’t think she was a bad pony… Up until he was discovered to only be using Luna for power and was imprisoned. After the imprisonment of Ahuizotl, Luna secluded herself. How could she not? She was ashamed and embarrassed that she even allowed herself to believe Ahuizotl’s lies. While Pinkie was visiting Twilight one day, Celestia called upon the small pink pony with a favor. She knew Pinkie had an addictive, bubbly personality and thought that, just maybe, Pinkie could cheer up Luna. Pinkie happily took on the task and Celestia allowed Pinkie into Luna’s quarters, with Luna’s permission.
 
Pinkie would visit the princess daily to try to brighten her spirits. Pinkie was unaware of the situation that befell Luna, but she did know that Ahuizotl was recently imprisoned, so maybe that had something to do with it? The naive pink, pudgy pony bluntly asked Luna what had happened before quickly realizing that she probably shouldn’t have asked and swiftly told Luna to please not tell her unless she felt she was comfortable doing so. Luna did chuckle pitifully at Pinkie before telling Pinkie the tale, only for Pinkie to comfortingly hug Luna. Luna was quite surprised by Pinkie’s embrace, to which Pinkie apologized because Luna was a princess, she shouldn’t be hugging a princess just out of nowhere!… But Luna returned Pinkie’s embrace to assure her that it was welcomed, not resented. With Pinkie’s continued visits, she slowly grew closer to the princess and also realized that Princess Luna was pregnant, with a child she could only assume was Ahuizotl’s. Luna was upset about her pregnancy, but Pinkie assured her she wouldn’t go through it alone and unknowingly confessed her feelings. Surprisingly to her, Luna requited the feelings.
 
Pinkie and Luna raised Achlys as an only child together until Pinkie had a surprise pregnancy with Fairy Floss. Pinkie was hoping for a daughter, while Luna was hoping for another son. Pinkie got what she was hoping for, because her and Luna’s baby was a healthy baby girl that they agreed to name Fairy Floss. She has her mommies wrapped around her hooves.
 
Fairy Floss is a more-mellow version of her mother Pinkie but she loves to play pranks and do other antics. She’s out to have fun and enjoy herself so she’s not a fan of learning the ropes of becoming Luna’s heir. Much like her older brother, she doesn’t want to be, nor does she want to ascend into alicornhood, but she feels she doesn’t have much of a choice. Fairy can be quite sarcastic and crass, often speaking before she thinks. She’s a cheeky girl but she’s a sweetheart. She has a sense of responsibility but she tends to let her emotions influence her more than logic.

Fairy Floss gets along greatly with both of her mothers, but she has a hard time trying to tell her mother Luna that she has no desire to be her heiress to the night. Fairy Floss holds her tongue in the hopes that, just maybe, she’ll grow to get used to the idea. So far, it’s not been working.
 
Fairy Floss adores her older half-brother, Achlys. Achlys does tend to get annoyed with Fairy Floss’ antics, but he loves her and just wants to protect her and her sisters. Fairy Floss also supports her brother whenever he begins to sport jewelry and earrings similar to his father’s, as she felt this was Achlys way of branching out and showing that, even though he looked like Ahuizotl, he wasn’t like him and never would be. Achlys is sometimes hard on Fairy, which causes some strain, but in the end Fairy Floss is aware that Achlys just wants what is best for her.
 
Fairy Floss is very close to her younger sister, Moonshine Opal. Moonshine, although younger, will listen intently to her sister’s concerns and often braids her mane to calm her down. She knows Fairy’s weakness and de-stresser is having her mane played with. They have chats often and love each other dearly, always making time for the other.
 
 
Fairy Floss loves her nerdy little sister, Dream Cloud. Dream is more interested in the function of weather, how the moon draws in the tides of the sea… Scientific stuff. Fairy Floss doesn’t have much for science, but she supports her little sister’s admiration to find out how things work. And yes, Dream asks ‘why’ a lot. Fairy Floss has also been bitten by Dream on a few occasions; it was while they were playing. She loves her little bat pony sister.
 
Fairy Floss finds solace in Celestia and Fluttershy’s daughter. The two both have problems they don’t know how to handle and they find the time to talk to each other and comfort each other. Celestia’s daughter is upset that she doesn’t have wings or a horn, so she feels practically useless. Fairy Floss doesn’t want to be crowned Princess of the Night. Two different problems, but they still help each other regardless. Fairy helps her feel like she’s perfectly fine the way she is, wings and horn or not. She helps Fairy by telling her that, if she does wind up being Princess, that she would do fine. Raising the moon couldn’t be that hard, right?… Okay, maybe she lacks in the comfort department, but she tries her best to comfort Fairy. Fairy appreciates it very much and values her cousin immensely.
