Everybody feels that way when their favorite show ends. Fans of shows like Married with Children and King of the Hill felt those shows ended too soon, despite them being on the air for over a decade!

It’s unclear why they’re ending the series, but I am glad they are. As for G5, it will not be a continuation of G4. It will be its own separate thing.

There is a pony manga…equestria girls season 3…possibly the idw comics continuing…plus Hasbro have a history of doing ‘soft’ reboots with successful franchises.
 
I could still be clutching at straws but something tells me that ‘g5’ won’t be that different after all.
 
You know why I think they decided to end FIM? Because after 9 seasons, a movie, several specials and shorts etc. it would be hard to get new fans in. So hopefully they’re ‘pulling over’, doing a soft reboot, and then continuing on with the same formula but wrapped up in a new animation style and in a new co text.
 
They wanted to animate in-house, which means a new company, which means a new animation style. Which combined with the fact that the characters have all developed so much, and the status quo had changed somewhat, you actually might as well have a ‘do over’.
 
What I’m hoping for, is a sort of ‘successor’ series, either still centred on the mane six or at least featuring them, showing life in equestria under twilights rule. And I have a gut feeling that they will.
 
Let’s face it, companies tend to stick with a formula long after its past its sell by date. So the idea that a company would just ditch the formula when, imo, it’s got a lot of life left, seems strange to me.

I haven’t heard anything official from Hasbro regarding G4 still going on next year. This is the last season, so it’s unlikely that we’ll be getting anything related to G4 next year.

I heard that yes, but I’ve also heard other things, including some g4 stuff due out next year. So I don’t know what to believe.
 
But anyway, so long as Pinkie is still around I’m happy. Couldn’t bare to see her go.

G4 is ending this year. We will be getting a pony film in 2021 that will kickstart G5.

Hell, DHX could have gone the whole hog. Have her burp, pat her stomach through the whole scene, go mmmmm, pick her teeth, everything to show that she’s totally stuffed lol
