@Potato Candy
That’s another thing great about animation, not just the potential of going exaggerated, but also being very expressive, the media provides a big window for large amounts.
Can overdoing it be an issue? Sure, but that more depends on what kind of project it is, whether a movie or show or game. MLP, while laid back at times, also delves into insanity and cartoony hijinks, a perfect blend between the two that crazy facial expressions is fine.
@SnakeyThingy
Plus, isn’t more expressivity a good thing? People just love to find any reason to complain because they think season 1 is the only good season.
@Background Pony #948D
Yeeesh.
I’ve been looking around, and I guess whatever face has the SLIGHTEST exaggeration is considered a meme face and bash worthy because of that. This damn show has had a TON of faces and stuff like that WAAAAY before.
It’s not like, oh I dunno, animations ALLOWS you to go as exaggerated or zany as you want. And even then, if this has been very apparent for this season, chances are the animators are going all out since this is basically the last they’ll ever do of MLP.
@SnakeyThingy
People keep calling the face expressions in this season meme faces or that they were being done meme.
People even started talking on it is screencaps as a meme face
>Scootaloo’s absent parents, but not Grand Pear, nor Windy and Bow, nor Mr. and Mrs. Shy, nor Rarity’s parents
>Spitfire and Raindrops (?), but not Soarin’, nor Thunderlane, nor any other Wonderbolt
>Wind Sprint (??), but not her mom, nor Quibble Pants
>Rockhoof, but not any other Pillar
>Diamond Tiara, but not Silver Spoon
>Gabby, but not Gilda
>Yona is suddenly taller than Ember I don’t even recall the pony next to Octavia.
Everyone who made the vectors:
Also, does it look odd to anyone else for Rutherford’s eyes to be visible?

Is this some kind of new trend going on? Because I’ve never heard the term being used so much, if not AT ALL, til recently.

I am so sick to death of people calling them meme faces
