basically i headcanon chrysalis really misses caring for and mothering her hive, so she takes cozy under her wing and basically adopts her, teaching her how to be Bad and generally becoming extremely protective of her

In Treue fest
As a changeling queen, Chrysalis has an eye for potential and plenty of experience protecting the young. It’s only natural that she’d grow attached to the wily little filly. I’m sure Cozy will benefit greatly from a changeling nymph’s upbringing.
 
I must say, I love the look of Chrysalis here, especially the prominence of her bestial features.
