Discord had nothing to do with it, as the artist was looking for a “properly serious image of royalty and she almost never looks serious enough”.

Yes, actually. At the end of the season 3 finale, “Magical Mystery Cure”, following Twilight’s transition from unicorn to alicorn, she is crowned as Equestria’s newest princess. The ceremony involves a group of banner mares (pictured) singing (in part) “The Princess Twilight cometh… behold, behold.” Given her depiction in the image above has her not looking particularly happy, I changed it to “beware” because, well, she looks a bit wrathful at the moment. And because it struck me as a bit funny to imagine an angelic sounding choir warning ponies to watch out for her.
 
So that is what I was referring to.
