@AwkwardLuna
Pretty much. I mean you’ll still have fans, real fans of the show well after it ends. And you’ll still have fan artist and fanfic writers who still love the characters.

That’s one of the reasons the Sonic fandom has lasted for all these years. Because people still love Sonic despite some lackluster games. The very same could be said for FIM just long as people can be good to each other rather than pretend to be.

I had no idea who this guy was (I thought it was generic furry bullshit).

I agree with your take on the fandom. When it started and was small people were chill, it was a community. “Love and tolerance” had gone from a joke meme to something taken seriously by most of us. As it grew, people argurd about how the show “should be”, started incorporating their creepy AUs ideas and fetishes, and wanted to be internet famous through it. Basically the usual signs a fandom was grown into it’s usual internet cancer. I honestly haven’t identified with the fandom since about 2014. And, not to sound like an ass, but I’m kinda glad it’s going to die off, sooner or later. Its run its course, and is more or less a diseased zombie now.

It’s like he can’t get any artist to help him with his videos, so all he can do now is drone out rheteric. This seems to be the case with the rest of the analysis community. Their time in the sun is quickly drawing to a close and all they can do is put on a brave face as they scream internaly. Seeing as their entire channels are based on “analyizing” a cartoon that was originaly marketed towards young girls. Claiming that it broke the gender gap which in itself is nonsense. There is only a gender gap if you allow one. That’s like saying videogames were for boys only until gamer girls arived on the scene. When in truth there had always been girls who were into games just as much as boys, I should know.

Anyway, Im getting off track the fact is this when you get content creaters wether they make music, animations, or amature voice work. They follow the trends and that’s how they stay relevant. Like Ellie Monty, Living Tombstone, or Hotdiggitydemon. Mlp is simply not trending much these days. That’s not to say there aren’t going to be fans, there will always be fans of the show just not people who got into the fandom just to simply become popular or to make an easy buck.

That’s why I think I’m somewhat bitter towards this fandom as a whole. When it first started it seemed to be bringing people together. I thought it was awesome on how people were collabing with each other with comics and animations and music. But as time went on, I began to notice a change. People just weren’t into the show as much as they used to be. I don’t think it was because Faust left or because Twilight became an alicorn, though both topics are often used in heated arguments. I think it was the emergence of other fandoms that put a few holes in the Brony boat. Like Undertale and Steven Universe to name a couple. That and you had those in the fandom trying so shove it down everyone elses throats and immediately bashing them when others didn’t like it.

All the while you had those profiting from the fanbase. I’m all for capitalism, but I always felt that fandoms were supposed to be more community focused. If someone is willing to pay for comissions thats fine, but when someone is getting others to “donate” money to them just so they can have money to attend conventions whereas most people can barley afford a bus ticket let alone pay their bills. Its kinda’ve a slap in the face at that point when they say “I hope to see you there!” O_O I hope to have food in my fridge for another week! I hope to have enough to make my car and insurance payments! I hope to be able to make my rent on time! I hope to one day live long enogh to retire and by a house someday! Granted I work butt-loads of O.T. But that doesn’t make me Mr. War-bucks either.

I appologize if I’m coming off as negative. I’ve actually met some pretty chill people in this fandom, but the fandom as a whole as in its entirety has not aged well within the short ime it’s been around.

Sorry I didn’t mean to write an entire essay.
