Because COLORING!!

The point was that Pinkie saw that her friends were all “upgrading” and doing bigger and better things that they had always wanted to do (except maybe Applejack, but she had always been doing exactly what she felt she was meant to do), whereas Pinkie felt that she had largely stayed the same the whole time, and didn’t know what her “upgrade” would be.
