PS4’s cost more than tickets for Toy Story, Avengers or Aladdin, and you can play God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, GTA V, Spyro and, of course, Spider-Man.
That’s not how buying an Ip works and at that If Sony were to say we want to buy spider-man Disney would most likely just decline them as they literally own the rights to what is essentially full marvel, including the X-men and Fantastic 4 now also Sony’s pull ahead was rather recent as Around the being of this August they had met in numbers and that’s when Sony climbed above for the time being, which most likely wont last, rather overall Disney has the far higher numbers; currently on the Year to Date, as of August 16th Disney is worth more by a bit.

Yeah, but if they are serious about it it’ll be over a million prebubescend kids and clowns running towards a military base, and knowing the public the brass won’t let the residents defend themselves.

Sony is actually richer than Disney (Columbia and Sony Pictures distribute the films, but they are still part of the conglomerate),so if they say Spiderman it’s ours then its theirs. After all, not many would react to Disneyland closing to sabotage Sony, but 200 million angry Playstation owners would attack anything Disney related.

not really cause Sony’s ownership of spider-man is fairly limited and was barely saved by spider-verse, plus PS4 was more Insomniac Games’ work rather than Sony. Sony has permission to use spider-man but he’s owned by Disney completely along with the rest of marvel since they took Fox as well; in practice Disney is the head commander and Sony is their secondary secretary
