Yeah, this is a super dumb idea. Anyone searching the discord tag is gonna see tons of Grogar images even if they have the spoiler tags for Season 9 and the Finale spoilered or hidden.

Well, I for one am not gonna do it. Not only because of the aforementioned spoiler issue, but also, if you follow my comics in chronological order, the whole reveal of Grogar being a red herring doesn’t come until the very final moment (and even then, it comes in a comic deleted because of massive upvotes, so you really need to watch the episodes themselves to know about the reveal).

All of this reminds me of the whole “THERE ARE EVIL SKRULLS OUT THERE!” when “Captain Marvel” came out, and then “Spider-Man: Far from Home” confirms that no, the Skrulls are good, and Marvel and Hasbro fucking hate their audience.
 
Honestly, Occam’s razor dicates that the “new movie” is just the pilot for G5. Even if it is G4-related, it will have nothing to do with Grogar.

Though seriously, Grogar is still around. This was just a giant freakin tease. He will probably get a big comic arc, or if the 2021 movie is G4(as it is unconfirmed as G5 and there is some evidence it is a G4 standalone film), Grogar is for sure the antagonist.

I don’t think you need to do that, just like we don’t need to tag every pic of Stygian when only Pony of Shadows is on screen, or Rarity when it’s only Nightmare Rarity on screen.

It just started production this year, so we havent got much to go off of yet. Best guess is that it is either a standalone FiM/G4 movie or the G5 movie.

The epilogue is amazing, truly, just not as a FiM epilogue. The epilogue is an excellent epilogue to G4, but G4 doesnt end for another 2 years. I would have loved to see it come out maybe a month before we get the first trailer to the 2021 movie. Having it in 2019, when the generation ends in 2021, is like me having my retirement party a good 20 years before I retire, you know? It just feels weird to get a generational epilogue, then 2 months later get a EQG special and a bunch of FiM comics.

His legacy allowed for this to happen in the first place.

Even though Grogar did not appear in the series at all, I still consider him the posthumous main villain of the finale, as the villainous trio couldn’t have done what they did without the Bewitching Bell, the weapon that originally belonged to Grogar.

Eh, I disagree because it is a set up for a possible continuation.  
DHX does not know if there is a G5, or a new G4 series. So, this is a great set up if Hasbro were to continue the story.  
Grogar is still out there, and if this Grogar was just Discord, how bad do you think the real Grogar is? Plus, now we have three villains set to make a comeback at some future point. We could see that with the Mane 6 or a future set of protagonists.  
Even if Allspark doesnt decide to do a sequel, the comics will likely explore this.  
I seriously loved this finale. My issue is honestly with the epilogue.
