Description
Development art for an upcoming commission. There are many things from the Fallout Equestria universe that I like. One thing I really don’t like is how firearms were handled, or not handled. I really, really don’t like the concept of holding weapons in one’s mouth. Either firearms or melee.One the weapons that Little Pip acquires early on is a scoped, double-action, magnum revolver called Little Macintosh. Both me and the client do not like the mouth trigger and grip. So the client wanted me to redesign it. So I have. When a being's limbs end in a single, inflexible digit it makes performing one hand/limb tasks trickier. One advantage of pistols and revolvers is that in theory they can be used with the one hand. Held, aimed, and fired all with one hand. However scoped, magnum handguns are rarely fired one-handed anyways. They're usually fired with both hands and often from a rested position. So I wasn't very concerned with the fact that this design doesn't permit one-handed operation.
Edit. I realized looking at my reference photos that the Chiappa cylinder is hexagonal instead of octagonal in design
Oh okay then. No more questions.
Baron isn’t on here, but he frequently answers questions on DA, if you want to ask him.
The Chiappa Rhino & Mateba Unica use an internal striker, similar to semi-auto handguns. They are semi-automatic revolvers.
They do have a “cocking lever” that puts the Rhino into single-action mode, basically giving you a hair-trigger for the first shot, so I’d just assume that’s what the “hammer” in this picture is.
Okay… But how the fuck does the hammer strike the firing pin on a bullet that is at the lowest point of the cylinder?
@Data Expunged
The Chiappa is designed that way to keep its profile slim. The sides are flattened so they don’t get caught on clothing or the holster.
Edited
Yeah that is odd. Especially with the picture of the gun itself having what looks like a hexagonal cylinder.
