Griffons don’t really do “guardian”, apparently. I suspect the only reason Grandpa Gruff is stepping up to the plate is that he’s the one Twilight Sparkle hit up to send a griffon to the School of Friendship in the first place, and apparently the old coot thinks it’s bad for business to turn down an Equestrian princess’s request.
Yes, but listening to Grampa Gruff’s dialogue whenever he is around Gallus, it seems like Grampa Gruff is being forced to be his guardian and wants nothing to do with him.
