Mm. The show is inherently the source of the fanbase, but over the years, it seems to me more that the fanbase is too intricate to depend solely on the source material. Fan works and concepts potentially transcends the official material more often than one may expect from Mario or Star Trek fan-made material. The show is not that complex by itself, but the symbol and ideals it suggests and implicates is what is to be regarded. Between all the different forms of corporate mandates and illogical compromises, the physical manifestation is largely boilerplate average, we appear to like the quantum ethereal manifestation more: The form that was, is, and might be created from fans’ imaginations. <w<
