I headcanon that Chrysalis lost the effect in her voice due to the impact of the landing from when she and her Changeling army were banished from Canterlot in the Season 2 Finale.
In early October 2016, Jim Miller was asked “I am curious to know if there’s a reason Chrysalis doesn’t have that Canterlot Wedding effect in her voice anymore?” and answered “Clarity. There was concern folks wouldn’t understand what she was saying.”
…but aside from the meta reason, is the echoing of her voice something she can consciously turn off, in our opinions?
Possibly, but that raises a few questions. For instance, if that is the case, why don’t any other changelings use it, even when talking to each other? Why did Chrysalis not use it after the attack on Canterlot? Why did she use it during the invasion?
Free will is fine as long as they choose what you want them to chose
They have free will.
Free will to choose my way or the highway.
I don’t think so, she lost her voice even in her alternate timeline.
We just couldn’t explain that.
Maybe Chrysalis cant communicate her threats clearly with her reverb voice.
I don’t see how that’s relevant. Those questions were supposed to have in-universe answers.
Pfff… really?

They should’ve kept it past her debut, perhaps, probably.
