The reason he’s sweating isn’t spelled out, but it seems likely to be a combination of arousal and fear of being caught.
 
His towel bears Rarity’s color scheme and cutie mark. It’s origin is unclear, but Rarity may have left it behind in her brief stay at the caves. Alternatively, he may have snuck into Ponyville and stolen it from her trash.
 
Presumably he’d be in similar trouble getting caught with the towel as he would be getting caught looking at whatever’s on the screen.

i am amused by the fact that he has a rarity handkerchief.
