Anyone who adores Applejack, mostly likely hates the stereotype of her being a racist southerner and/or background pony. So, the best way to give an AJ fan a somewhat of a backhanded gift, is to create a beautiful rendition of Applejack, which you know your friend will love and include something, like the racist Southerner stereotype, that you know your friend won’t love, possibly hate even. It’s dark humor. Friends often tease one another and this image would upset certain Applejack lovers. Giving a friend a gift you know they’ll somewhat hate.
 
And yes real transatlantic slavery was racist and the blacks were treated very poorly. It’s the kind of thing most say a person such not joke about, but that dark or morbid and offensive humor.
