Agreed.
I’ll admit I’m probably a little too attached to my view of Chrysalis, in the end.
shrug
She is a fun, interesting character to try to get into the head of.

Fair points, though i’m not sure i’d put “leaving to starve/ordering hive to attack” on the same level as taking a life herself.
The closest moment was Thorax’s if we’re to believe that process was indeed going to kill him but there’s no confirmation
Aside from how the comics regarding Chrysalis didn’t really have anything contradict them in the show (not the main point though), Chrysalis didn’t show any signs of insanity past Frenemies in S9 (she did not do anything like, talk to Mean Twilight’s log past that episode, for instance); if you have any examples of the contrary, go ahead and show me, but it seemed to me she was her usual self past that point.
She tried to sic Twilight on the real Cadance in her debut by baiting her into attacking her (she also sounded like she never planned on letting Twilight escape that cave, and just leave her there forever, also regarding whatever the brainwashed bridesmaids were supposed to actually do to her and Cadance, when the “sic Twilight on Cadance” plan had failed), and she tried to drain “every last ounce of love” from Thorax, which when love is what they subsist on, sounds a lot like “she’s trying to murder him,” since I don’t exactly see her trying to keep him fed enough to stay alive, let alone in the long run.
She also obviously thought this cover story was believable in S5, if her minion was saying it.
It’s probably too charitable to say that all of those cases were definitely not “attempted murder” in the slightest, and that she was only willing to murder past S6.
She’s already a conqueror who relishes fear and control, so what’s a few casualties to someone like her? Why would someone like her care if she killed a few out of many, if she can still get what she wants?

S9 is canon but the comics aren’t, also Chrysalis has already lost her mind at that point
Still waiting for examples of her trying to kill someone in S2, S5 or S6, as opposed to letting everyone see her create a brand new world.

your current filter.Unless you’re gonna go “S9 ain’t canon bro” on us, it’s kinda delusional to claim that, if you’re being serious, not just baiting a reaction for the fun of it, and it’s wishful thinking even based off of S2-S6, or the comics especially.

“irredeemable”
Precisely. Honestly why Chrissy is one of my favorite characters in MLP.
Exactly.
The Mean Six as a whole are arguably a metaphor for how self-destructive she is, in the end, because of how they reflect her.
She’s also…kind of a rolling fuck up. Like, nothing she does can ever work to the point of her creating something that is arguably more effective than her, completely misuing it, and then it pisses off harmony itself and dies.
Twi… you just don’t get it, do ya?
That wouldn’t be a satisfying enough way to exact revenge on Starlight, for Chrysalis, either; she’d almost certainly torture in that case.
…There are pragmatic reasons too, but above all, the “grandiose” part is true, she’s just not liable to think of it that way.

She’s the Diet Bookhorse of main characters.

True, but I don’t see how that’s relevant.
Chrysalis impersonated a member of the royal family for an unknown period of time while presumably interacting with Celestia and Luna on a daily basis. Just sayin’.
As for a Watsonian reason, here’s one off the top of my head:
