Zebras seem to have Cutie Marks, so I’m not too surprised that these guys get them too. Shame Donkeys, Mules, and Hippogriffs don’t though.

Wait, so this story will involve zebras and Scottish murder ponies? I’m suddenly flashing on an Equestrian version of Last King of Scotland with the gang meeting a equine Idi Amin.

Wait… Kelpies and abada have a cutie mark?!!!

Why does it look like the kelpie Crystal is meant for a much cooler country than the homeland of the zebras that have a warm climate? Medley Brook obviously has an “armor” of flowing water on it to move freely, not unexpectedly. Zecora lived in a country based in Africa, probably southwestern Africa.
 
The two abada appear to be adapted to desert conditions, which meant these originally came from desert as indicated by the names, Cactus Rose and Dust Devil. As it is not far from the sea to desert terrain in southwestern Africa that can have very large and flat plains and highland with lots of trees, it is possible for the zebras to come in contact with the abadas.
 
The famous savannas are probably much further inland, so Zecora may have lived in an important cultural meeting point between different cultures. It would thus explain how she could have friends who did not come from her own people. The kelpies probably live in the sea and the rivers.
