Not a Llama - Happy April Fools Day!
The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@Kejzfox
look closer at the words on the picture: none of them specify ponies. he also draws landscapes, architecture, humans, animals, and anthropomorphic beings outside of the pony fandom. he’s not tethered to the ponies, but they were his most recent works at the time of posting this submission info list.

uh guys; nothing in this picture actually says pony, he just used a collage of more recent previous works as examples. also, the one thing he left out of this was the sizes available for the printed versions because if he makes mural sized high definition prints of this picture:

full

and other works of his on par with that one I’d seriously consider paying the $120 and whatever fee he’d probably tack on for something that large to have it.

also, his prices include shipping, and if he’s still in Poland that could save you guys a HUGE chunk of money.

Walk the path.
There is absolutely nothing morally wrong with doing it just “for the money” and not because “they have soul or a passion for it”. Get your idealogical hippy bullcrap out of here, grow up, and live in the real world.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@Background Pony
You say that like a bad thing. Would it be different with another economic system? Which one? And how?

More than “capitalism”, it’s “free market”. He’s able to decide the price he wants. And it’s a very good thing.

His art is good, with a very clean and peculiar style.
I think his prices are too high, too. But they could work for him, I’ve seen some poor pieces of art payed hundreds of bucks.
Some bronies are literally made of money…

If foxinshadow starts draw only comissions - buck it, I will completely dissapoint on him. But if he will still do something “for soul”, there are nothing wrong.

Consider who is purchasing these things, pro artists tend to work for companies not fans of tv shows.

Companies can afford to hire a professional artist, most of us can’t.

Milk money out of it

It’s art, dude. Art require work. Owning the original is worth something.

Come clean out my house, empty the gutters, and remove the snow from my driveway. You’ll have my gratitude and you would be awesome… BUT YOU BETTER NOT MILK MONEY OUT OF THAT!

Too expensive for the quality. If this illustrator seriously wants to make a living, he has to lower his prices. Freelancers in the industry usually make on average $25 an hour.

The high price is probably a result of his inefficiency. If he were able to bring down the “basic” price to $25 and complete them within an hour, which is reasonable to do for those looking to do this line of work as a profession, then it would be more acceptable. But in order for him to do that he has to produce higher quality work at a quicker rate. Practice more.

@BND
Yeah, but this art is not professional, at all. Its good i’ll give you that but its far from that level of quality.

@bucky
Agreed, that’s why most artists take commissions as a past-time, or extra source of income.
Unlike this artist, who wants to make a living out of it.

I frankly believe he might be able to do so, but he has to reduce the prices a little.
Better get 3 commissions for 20$, than just one for 40$. Pure business strategy. ^^
