I dunno, the Pinkie duck face in FIM looks more exaggerated/comical to me honestly. Other then the lipstick, this Rarity one isn’t even that exagerrated or off-model.

To be fair, when Pinkie Pie made the duck face, she at least made it look respectable. And, the kissy face, even on the foals in FiM, managed to look respectable.
duck face (or kissy face for that matter) + bedroom eyes + chibi head = not respectable
