It’s explicitly a Zecora thing, Marini (this zebra) makes a comment to the tune of “you’ve gotten really good at this gimmick” about Zecora’s rhyming.

Yeah making zebras not monochromatic while retaining basic sanity guidelines (pale coat colors, darker stripe & mane colors) is an extremely good move.
