Actually Tabitha did explain at some point that she thought that Derpy was a boy. This may have been during a panel at a con or something like that.

I think I like her new/current voice better. Sounds a bit “cuter,” and kinda reminds me of BaldDumboRat’s fanon voice for Derpy.

I still preferred her original voice over the replacement. Slice Of Life was okay but the voice I liked the best was in that episode where she’s talking to Rarity. Her voice is slurred just right.

Some actually did, I remember, and some argued if it did, or not, and some genuine “white knights” did try to campaign to complain against “albeism.” So it wasn’t just trolls, some actually were overreacting, or think it was un-P.C. or something. So that didn’t help.

No one really thought it meant retarded, the party responsible for the “concerned parent” emails gloated over what they did before it happened. Also Hasbro was fooled because they looked up the Urban Dictionary (which at the time was vandalized to also claim the word meant “retarded”).

MY LIFE IS COMPLETE! DERPY HAS LANDED! Or Ditzy-Doo, Bubbles, or Muffins, or whatever you wish to call her.

As a vetran of “Derpygate,” a more accurate story is, basically some thought the name/term/meme name “Derpy” meant “retarded,” and all hell broke loose over if it meant that, or not, and so some got offended, and complained, so it got famously censored, and they changed her voice. This lead to more drama rather then fixing ironically with many “Save Derpy” petitions, and such.
 
Probably one of the most famed brony fandom dramas, besides Twilicorn.

No, it’s not. She was “Derpy” in the original version of The Last Roundup and this only changed because some Internet trolls sent a few emails claiming to be “concerned parents” that were offended by the character. Hasbro fell for it and now we are stuck with “Muffins”.

Fluttershy apparently has a hidden “dark side” in her (openly called that when we got a glimpse of her mind), and you can tell she is no longer the super-kind pony. Super adorable, yes, but she does get carried away at times. She is also tougher on Angel.

Haven’t seen any full episodes yet. Have they really changed Fluttershy to Flutterrude?

Seems ironic Derpy is only a character because of the fans,yet they change her name,like how Button is only a character because of fans,and they change his color scheme.  
Then again,Fluttershy shuts the door in Derpy’s face,so it’s not like she had a chance to correct her.

Call it overreacting, but as far as I’m concerned, Derpy being referred to as “Muffins” on-screen is the “Greedo shooting first” of My Little Pony.

Literally everybody knows. It’s just in FIM the characters try to avoid saying her name altogether to avoid further fandom blunder.
 
This is the first voiced one.

I honestly don’t really care about Derpy being called “Muffins”. It’s just a case of the fandom and the producers having their own preferences, and that’s cool with me.
