I don’t understand a lot of the decisions in that finale, though I don’t despise Discord for it like some people seem to. I feel his decisions still followed the sort of indirect, unhelpful lines of thinking he’s been known for, it just wasn’t written well. If even he’d just explained his intentions differently, I think the reception could have turned out different.
He was the show and fandom’s satan analog and those were great times.
Oh, I still like him; up until he was Grogar, I hated that.
If the show had been written for older audiences he might have been more like Vegeta at first though. Fun to muse about.
He, rather Meghan and her team, sacrificed bad-assery for returning character status. As a protagonist he’s unable to be a bad-ass much or at all, on account of he’d be able to solve all the character’s problems instantly, so we lost chaos god for comic relief.
I don’t personally mind. Would have sucked to have Discord for two episodes two seasons in and then never again.

Reminds one of the days when we all thought Discord was going to be badass.
