Description

got an idea and made a few low quality sketches
If you don’t know, this is my sona, Whimsy Writer (they/them pronouns)
I was lounging around and suddenly got the idea to somehow write Whim into the actual show. I don’t plan on writing any fics, it was just for fun while I was bored
And then… I decided to make them a villain. Then they got spicy.
It took a while to decide how I wanted to go about it, I did want to incorporate their writing talent into their motivation, so here’s what I got:

Whimsy never really knew how to make friends. Their anxiety mixed with frequent moving around meant they didn’t really speak with others too often.
They grew up under a lot of pressure from their parents to be a scholar, as the whole family were often considered geniuses and asked for magical assistance a lot.
Whimsy became a writer of enchanted comics. Their parents weren’t happy.
When they moved out, they were pretty much disowned by their parents and haven’t spoken since.
At first, they thought of it as a new start, to be able to make a life for themself.
Things… didn’t work out that way.

While they were able to successfully publish many of their comics, most of them faded into obscurity or were butchered by editors. They even had a friend steal their work and claim credit for it. After that, Whim completely cut themself off from the outside world.
Meanwhile, they kept track of Twilight Sparkle. They first learned of her back during Luna’s return from her banishment, and kept track of her. At first, it was inspiration. Whim loved the story that Twilight had and enjoyed hearing about the Princess’ star pupil.
Then it became obsessive. Suddenly, the inspiration turned to envy and jealousy. Twilight was just like them, a social outcast, but somehow, she was better.
somehow, Twilight had everything they didn’t. A loving family, a successful career and ambitions, friends surrounding her… it wasn’t fair.

So they turned back to their comics.
Their comics were enchanted to literally suck a reader into the story.
Maybe… they could turn this into something bigger.
So they worked tirelessly on a quill, something to rewrite reality itself. To make their best story yet.
It was difficult, and they gave up multiple times.
But one day, they completed the spell. And began writing their new story.

Twilight wakes up one morning in an unfamiliar home.
She no longer has her wings, she has no idea where her friends or family are, and she has no idea what happened.
She makes it to ponyville to find someone else in her place.
Royal Whimsy Dream is the Royal of Ponyville, and the element of magic.
At first, most ponies write off Twilight as a confused and crazy mare, even her own (former) friends, who all call Whimsy their friend instead of Twilight.
At first, Twilight blames them, and demands they change everything back, but Whimsy has no idea what Twilight is talking about. Twilight eventually gets chased out of town by a mob.

Twilight returns to Whimsy later, apologizing for her behavior, but insisting something is wrong and asking for their help.
Whimsy smiles.
“Oh, Princess Twilight Sparkle, everything is perfectly normal.”
They reveal everything they know about her, about how they envy and coveted her picture perfect life and wanted it for themself. How unfair it was that, despite being two sides of the same coin, Twilight gets everything.
“If I couldn’t be the hero of my own story… I’ll make myself the hero.”
They leave Twilight behind, telling her no-one will ever believe her.
But ‘their’ faithful assistant isn’t too far off, listening to the story.

This… was fun to write. And will not be the last you’ll see of this little AU
Again, I don’t really plan on doing anything with it, but it’s a lot of fun to play with
