@Background Pony #140F
ah see his plan caused eq to be in danger, it didn’t cause them to be worse people
Yes he DID.
His plan caused that
He didn’t turn them into worse people than they were before
THE WHOLE FREAKING THING.
Discord plucking them and instead of them getting help, he just pushed them around and making them work together on destroying the heroes. Essentially encouraging their behavior and even pointed them to something that made them become even worse threats.
Its literally releasing a criminal but instead of getting them rehabilitation they are put in a environment/situation that worsens/encourages their criminal behavior and giving them a deadly weapon to cause even more harm.
Worsened their behavior? Proof?
Thing is, Discord’s plan exposed them to more negative stuff and essentially worsened their behavior.
Especially with how he’s pushing them around(as Grogar) and making them work together.
Once taking his magic, the trio could have choose to go live in peace somewhere, discord didn’t make them bad guys they choose that themselves. What led them to stone was them
She WAS forced back into villainy.
Yes, she WAS still evil and would have done evil things again, but SHE WAS ALREADY SERVING HER SENTENCE.
Busting someone out of jail and forcing them to commit more evil acts otherwise you’ll hurt them or imprison them again is called ‘Entrapment’, and remember, this is a 10-12 year old kid with no parents or guardians to speak of, and everyone has written her off as a lost cause and has pretty must just put her in jail and forgotten about her.
It’s still pretty fucked up no matter how you look at it.
I’m sorry, it’s just- Any ‘Kids’ show that publicly executes a 12-year-old child in the end shouldn’t dare claim to be about friendship.
They did not want to be redeemed.they made this abundantly clear.
@Ghost Reviews
No, he didn’t.
@Background Pony #572F
“Unpunished” my ass. He WAS punished for what he did. You clearly didn’t pay attention to the episode.
@TheSultanAkbar
@Background Pony #94DA
We clearly saw him get destroyed by the Crystal Heart. The only reason why they didn’t say it actually killed him is because you can’t say “die” on a kids’ cartoon.
@Ghost Reviews
A child who refused to repent of her actions and seemed delighted at committing genocide against her own kind.
@Ghost Reviews
Wrong. They were shown as being irredeemably evil. You clearly didn’t pay attention to any episodes that these two appeared in. And what do you mean by the Mane Six failed to do what they were meant to? They restored harmony to Equestria. How is that failing to do what they are supposed to?
@SpectralGlow
Nobody forced Cozy Glow back into villainy. She was always evil and vowed to repeat her actions if given the chance.
Edited
Its still really terrible though.
Due to essentially not being “alive” anyway.
In fact people pointed out 4 outcomes that is not good:
They are conscious but are stuck there for good, terrible
They are conscious but get let out but are traumatized by that fate.
They aren’t but not let out at all, essentially dead in a way
They aren’t but are essentially a sealed evil in a can that will cause trouble due to a villain or they are just pissed.
So turning them to stone is actually not a good idea honestly..
Edited
Yeah and he got out and was let out later.
The fact that the one character who managed it is Discord himself…in my mind, at least, that only reinforces OP’s argument.
When Sombra had Flurry Heart, a baby/kid/child, chained up, that was a bad thing, yes?
But when the supposed ‘Good Guys’ put a 12-year-old child into a cage that’s barely bigger than she is, and then a season later break her out of that cage and force her back into villainy, then essentially publicly execute her after it, with no punishment for Discord, the one who literally BUSTED HER OUT OF JAIL…
That’s a good thing?
The whole thing reeks of protagonist centered morality, and it’s sickening that people are defending Discord for it.
I’ve always imagined it was nothing more than cryogenic freezing and that Discord was self aware because he’s the manifestation of Chaos.
Hes not a villain he was only tryna help his friend twilight
he did something just for fun and it is a case that the LOD deserve their sentence–be treated like disposable goods.
why we should show mercy to LOD? maybe LT isn’t hopeless, he just a robber,but CG and bugbutt are.
Not exactly - I checked the transcript, and he made an off-hand comment about them being together forever, and it being emptying they would hate. I personally see that as just Discord being a dick, and mocking them, rather than any sort of statement that their petrification is permanent, and they’re dead or whatever. However, there’s a bit more there than I originally remembered, so I can understand a bit more how OP might have decided on that bit of the comic.
But the thing about Discord deciding who can be alive or dead, I think, is a pretty big leap of logic, especially from the Sombra thing. However, again, with Sombra, what happens to him is left a bit vague, so I can understand how people would think he’s dead, even if I disagree (I think that, with Sombra being so powerful, along with the Crystal Heart/Friendship Magic being forces of ultimate good, he wasn’t killed, but rather his essence was dispelled to the ether - or the darkness, as I believe they call it in The Beginning of the End - and he was still alive. So, rather than resurrecting him, Discord just regathered him).
He said that they’d be trapped for eternity
