Hence the private mini-dungeon. He can do what he wants without anything to upset him and you only need to bring him out for slaughter. At least that’s what I remember. Been a long time since I played it.
Nah, if he does get actually angry he’ll just break down all doors and cut down your other creatures like stalks of wheat.
I thought the trick was to give him his own private little dungeon, locked away behind several doors.
The trick was to put him in a temple for a few seconds whenever he got irritated (which the game will kindly announce to you) to charge his happiness back up, then put him back in the training room.
You mean someone else besides me played this!? :O
Hm, I’ll have to look into that.
A site that sells old games (you basically pay them for making them run well on new computers).
And of course you could just download DK from somewhere for free… but there’s no telling how it will behave.
What’s that?
GoG is the answer to your problem.
Agreed, I’ve only played the first game a little bit, ended up losing the disk and never managing to play it again. But I found a hidden reaper and he went ape shit like, immediatly.
Still, wish I could play them again.
He got mad about everything that’s not slaughter (even giving him gold only pissed him off more) and he would then either leave the dungeon or start killing other more useful creatures you might have near him… or attempt it because he’s outleveled by everything that cared to TRAIN so much he gets trashed by a fledging demon.
Now in DK2 on the other hand…
I’ve been wanting to play this game again for so long.
So many memories.
