How about also the fact that Cadence doesn’t rule Equestria? She rules the Crystal Empire. This gets confusing when I realize that I’m not sure if Equestria is a country or the world they live in. Hmm.

I don’t think Candance has been around as long as Celestia and Luna. We see her growing up while babysitting Twilight, although she was an alicorn then, so did she asend into Alicorn status or was she born one, making Twilight the only pony to asend into Alicorn without it being a birth-right?

Please. Celestia is just a wise mentor archetype who likes cake. That is all we know about her. She’s only used as a plot device, and hasn’t even done anything since she got her mythical ponies foretold by legend.
 
Even Spike has done more to save ponies than her.
 
And Luna? Well, she did just get back. But she seems to yield to her sister a lot.

A pantheon system makes much, much more sense than a yin-yang system. Especially considering that an actual yin-yang system would completely break down if the ruler was sent away, not just be more difficult on one part.

Luna was stuck in the moon for 1000 years  
Cadance isn’t on the same level as Celestia & Luna and she isn’t that much older than Twilight anyway, so she wasn’t there since ‘the founding of Equestria’
 
Celestia is the one who has been holding Equestria together all these years, and she’s still in charge (see her ‘don’t forget who the real boss here is’ crown during Twilight’s coronation)
